The Development and External Relations office UPDATE

- AgriTECH Park
- External Relations
- The Development and External Relations office hosted the NDP candidates meeting and coffee break in the Library. The party ultimately won the election.
- Laurie and Jim attended a meeting on the BioAccelerator facility at ATP. The proposal is to fund a new facility for research and development
- Laurie Sandeson and Jim met with John Sullivan regarding IT at AgriTech Park
- Jim attended a reception for retirement of Dr. Harold Cook at Dal Medical School. Dr. Cook is an NSAC alumnus.
- Marketing
- Executed materials related to NSAC Spotlight, NSAC's
new recognition program for students, staff and faculty;
- Continued development of brand development activities
for the year;
- Negotiated project scope for applicant and competitive
intelligence studies for NSAC;
- Began discussions with Canada Post to improve direct
mail capacity at NSAC;
- Began creative process to establish look/feel for
Vet Tech promotional material;
- Identified new opportunity to improve learning outcomes
in our classrooms via document design and printing
methods
- Communications and Alumni
- Jim and Alisha attended the national CCAE conference in Hamilton.
- Jim and Alisha hosted an Alumni meeting at University of Guelph. There was a good turn out.
- Jim and Alisha organized and participated in a Truro area alumni gathering and golf game at River Run Golf Club. It was a successful event.
- Jim attended the Class of ’56 reunion at Liscombe Lodge.
- 74 Found/changed alumni records this month
- Development and Fund Raising
- Mr Sodhi who did this month and Jim attended his memorial service. He worked with the family on a new memorial scholarship.
- Jim met with several new prospective donors and developed a proposal for a new scholarship.
- The annual meeting of the NSAC Foundation and Alumni Association were held during the month. There was significant preparation time and follow-up to these meeting.
- There was a great deal of work on the Datatel conversion and setup project. Training was completed and the new system went live mid month.
- Jim and Mike had a demo of a web based Scholarship program. It was more suitable for the Awards office and was referred them

- Visix channel player has been installed in Cox. Monitor should be in place in July.
- Visix screensavers (10) and server component has been ordered.
- New frontpage tweaks continue and should be up and running in July.
- Mike did a demo of web editing for Engineering staff.
- Openhouse and New Student Orientation pages are up and running.
- Mike with with Roseanne at Career Services to develop a new online job posting form, as well as help prepare the Career Fair site for January.
