Digging Deeper: Approaches to Research in Horticultural Therapy and Therapeutic Horticulture
The Canadian Horticultural
Therapy Association (CHTA)is proud to announce its partnership with
the People Plant Council in presenting the CHTA Annual Conference
and 2010 International People Plant Symposium (IPPS). This
joint meeting will take place
on the beautiful campus of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College,
Truro Nova Scotia
form August 6 to 8, 2010.
The purpose of the conference/symposium is to provide a forum for researchers, educators,
and practitioners to discuss and develop a deeper understanding
of the depth and breadth of research currently being conducted
in the field of Horticultural Therapy (HT & TH) and to highlight
research needs with a particular focus on the practitioner.
The meeting will consist of thought-provoking presentations
by invited speakers as well as a diverse selection of oral,
poster and workshop presentations.
The conference/symposium will have a relaxed atmosphere to encourage
discussion on papers and presentations with authors and other
participants. This communication will enhance the development
of current research practices and enable the identification
of gaps in Horticultural Therapy research.
For this purpose, the joint organizing committee invites researchers, educators,
and practitioners to present their work on the research, program
descriptions, theories, and models of the beneficial interaction
of people and plants and the wide ranging applications that
this unique relationship offers, and to encourage further
use and development of Horticultural Therapy in the healing
arts and sciences.
