Earth Day Celebrations a Success
Yesterday was Earth Day. Despite the rainy, dark weather
we had; lights were out all over campus. Thank you to all
who participated.
In addition to turning off lights; staff participated in
Earth Day by carpooling, bringing litter-less lunches, and
wearing 100% cotton clothing. Three people were selected
to recieve eco-friendly merchandise from NSAC. Fraser Nicholson
will recieve an eco-button for using double-sided print,
turning off lights, and shutting off his computer when he's
not in the office. Catherine Enright will recieve an eco-friendly
journal set for considering the environment at home by collecting
discarded recyclables, hanging her laundry to dry, and sweeping
rather then vacuuming. A folding shopping bag will be given
to Jatinder Kaur for making a commitment yesterday to no
longer use plastic grocery bags.
Thank you Fraser, Catherine and Jatinder for working to
minimize your footprint on the environment.
