Presentation by Dr. Shiv Chopra
As part of Graduate Research Day on March 27, 2009, NSAC
will be hosting Dr. Shiv Chopra at 4pm in Alumni Theatre
for a public presentation.
"Shiv Chopra is a Canadian hero. He was guided by
science to conclusions that were not politically convenient"
says Dr. David Suzuki.
Dr. Chopra's work prevented approval of harmful drugs such
as Bovine Growth Hormone, raised early attention to avoidable
sources of Mad Cow Disease, questioned the Anthrax scare
and warned about safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
His latest book, Corrupt to Core (2009) is a full
account of government corruption endangering the public
food supply. It proposes a blueprint for the establishment
of food safety and security, called the "Five Pillars
of Food Safety", to not employ hormones, antibiotics,
slaughterhouse/rendered dead animal wastes, genetically
modified organisms (GMOs), pesticides and herbicides.
All are welcomed to this free public presentation followed
by a question and answer period. Click here
to view the poster for the event.

OH&S Annual Inspections
It is that time of year again to prepare our OH&S inspections.
Last year during May and June the inspections were completed
by NSAC Safety & Security. This task was completed to
get our facility back up to par on our inspections as many
of the divisions were not up to date.
Please ensure that all divisions and departments at NSAC
have completed and copied inspections to Safety & Security
before August 31, 2009. This deadline should give us all
ample time to pick away at them until they are completed.
Please remember, it is our responsibility as managers, supervisors
and employees to have our workplace inspections completed
annually to be in compliance with the OH&S Regulations.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free
to contact Safety & Security @ 4190 or email at erector@nsac.ca
