Points of NSAC Pride
Small size, big impact
With a student to faculty ratio of 12:1, how could you not receive
the personal attention you deserve? Our professors, instructors
and staff are committed to making your academic goals become
a reality. They do this by providing extra help for tests and
assignments, encouraging you, monitoring your progress, and,
of course, knowing your name!
What does all this mean? It means that NSAC students are comfortable
with their profs and instructors....it means that when you are
struggling, there's always someone there to help you out....it
means that regardless of your future goals, you will receive
the motivation and support you need to succeed. But don't take
our word for it....ask our students! NSAC students boast the
highest student satisfaction rating among North American universities
and colleges surveyed.
Hands-on experience
At NSAC we pride ourselves on the unique and
interactive features of all of our programs. Whether you are
studying the environment, plants, engineering, animals, or any
of our other programs, you will discover first hand the theories,
methods and procedures that you read about in your textbook.
Science is a hands-on sport, and to be great, you have to get
dirty, get involved, and get ready to experience learning in
a completely different way. You won't watch science from the
sidelines...you will be in the centre of it all, learning from
real-life researchers, and getting to know science from the
inside out. Our graduates know 'how' - not just 'what.' What
better way to prepare yourself for life beyond the classroom.
Progressive program offerings
Applied science is blowing the doors off other
career choices. The great thing about applied science is you
can do almost anything with your science degree or diploma.
You can work in agriculture, of course, but applied science
opens up lots of of other doors for you. Applied science gets
you where you're going, no matter where that place is.
Applied science is the way to solve real-world problems. In
our programs, we focus our students' attention on using science
to make the world better. Our students work to solve environmental
problems, to improve animal health, to improve our world's food
supply.
We offer almost 400 diverse courses for undergraduate, graduate
and diploma students. Because we focus on a smaller number of
courses, you get a very specialized, high quality education.
And our programs are relevant to today's world and job market.
Our programs include aquaculture, environmental studies, engineering
and plant and animal science. They all focus our students on
solving real-world issues with science. For complete listing
of programs please visit our NSAC
Programs site.
Cutting edge technology
You can't learn applied science if you don't
have the right tools. At NSAC, we make sure that our students
not only know what technology is used for, but how to use it.
Doing, not just watching. Our students roll up their sleeves
and dive in, using our state-of-the-art equipment that is used
in real-life research. So you hear, then you do, and then you
learn. Employers understand that having experience using technology
relevant to their industry is crucial, and it's what makes our
graduates stand out from the rest. Whether it is molecular genetics,
studies of wastewater treatments, or growing insulin-producing
carrots, NSAC is alive with new and incredible research, all
using the most modern technology. What better people to learn
from, than the researchers creating the knowledge!
Producing new generations of leaders
NSAC's academic programs and student-life opportunities are
helping to produce the next generation of leaders who will have
a greater understanding of the roles that agriculture, the environment,
life sciences, business, and technology play, both within our
own community and throughout the world. Get a great foundation
in leadership by attending NSAC!
International presence
The local economy will increasingly rely on more
participation in the global marketplace. NSAC is dedicated to
increasing participation in international development efforts
related to rural reas in particular. By providing a campus full
of diversity, NSAC offers you exposure to a wide range of cultures
and viewpoints, in addition to international exchange opportunities.
So if you have an interest in seeing the world and being part
of the global community, get involved in NSAC projects, and exchange
programs around the world!
