Program Overview
Do you have an interest in designing and creating outdoor spaces?
A desire to work in the growing golf course or nursery industries?
If so, the Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Horticulture
will prepare you well for these careers.
The B. Tech. program at NSAC runs deep into the understanding
of environmental issues in the landscape, and exposes you to
the means to remedy environmental problems, or to prevent them.
The program offers skills and training in all aspects of landscape
horticulture, allowing students to go wherever there is a need
for qualified employees and entrepreneurs.
You can specialize in a number of areas, whether in the Golf
Industry, Tree Care, Landscape Construction, or Maintenance,
not to mention Nursery or Greenhouse Production. The program
at NSAC has dedicated staff, small classes, and a campus rich
in Horticulture. Horticulture and Environmental careers are
really blossoming, as we are increasingly concerned about the
environment, reducing damage to our surroundings, and incorporating
the indoors and out. The B. Tech. program gives you plenty of
options as a student, lots of support, and many opportunities
for employment future study, or a combination of both.
Course Work
Years 1 and 2 of this program are satisfied by the completion
of the Environmental
Horticulture Technology program, or its equivalent program located at another institution,
approved by the Department. During the final two years of study
you will have the opportunity to meet and work with professionals
in your area of interest, helping you to network with future
employers and hone your horticultural skills. This program allows
you great flexibility in choosing electives for your specialization,

Want to study abroad? There’s plenty of opportunity in
this program to spend a semester overseas studying environmental
